St. JOHN PAUL II CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT

The staff at Pope John Paul II Catholic Elementary School is dedicated to providing the best education possible for each and every child in our care.  We endeavour to create an atmosphere that will address the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of your child while providing them with the basic skills, intellectual honesty and social conscience that will allow them to face the uncertain challenges of the future with hope and confidence.  Christ will show us the way and our children will lead.  Students, parents and teachers should unite to work as a community for the betterment of all.  Our school is your school.

WHAT MAKES A CATHOLIC SCHOOL CATHOLIC?

A Catholic school is Catholic in its reflection of the spirit.  Spiritual values are difficult to teach in today’s world but it is a Catholic school’s special task to ensure that students receive an opportunity to develop spiritually, this in addition to a challenging academic curriculum.  Spiritual development can occur in many and various ways, but this development is most powerful and successful when it involves the HOME, SCHOOL and PARISH.

LEARNING about the Faith is one thing, but LIVING it is much more challenging.  Yet this is really the goal of all religious programs.  The school does its part through the work of the Priest & Chaplain and dedicated Catholic teachers who help students focus on the meaning of Christianity in practical and significant ways.  Along with support from home and from the local parishes, Pope John Paul II Catholic Elementary School will strive to achieve the lofty goal of bringing the Christian Faith to a new generation.
